How to save Threads videos and photos

How to save Threads videos and photos — copying the right link, grabbing a whole carousel at once, and why it all comes out clean.

Knowing how to save Threads videos is easy once you know which link to copy — Threads keeps its media simple, which makes saving it simple too.

The quick way

  1. Copy the post link. Tap the three dots in the corner of the post (or the paper-plane share icon) and choose Copy link.
  2. Paste it into the tool. Open the Threads downloader and drop the link in.
  3. Download. If the post has more than one slide, switch the tab to Carousel first. Then press Download and the file saves to your device.

Copy the post link, not the profile link

This trips people up. Tapping a username copies a link to the whole profile, and a downloader can't turn that into a single file. You want the link to the specific post — open the post first, then hit share. If the address has /post/ in it, you've got the right one.

Grabbing a whole carousel

When a post has several photos or clips swiped together, most tools only save the first slide and call it done. Switch to the Carousel tab before downloading and you'll get every item in the post instead of just the cover. It's the difference between saving one photo and saving the set.

Why there's no watermark

Threads doesn't stamp a watermark onto videos or photos. The file on its servers is the clean original, so that's what you save — nothing in the corner, nothing across the bottom. As with Pinterest, no tool is "removing" a watermark here, because there isn't one to begin with.

About quality

You get the resolution the post was uploaded at. Best means the highest version Threads actually stores, not an inflated number. A lower setting simply trades quality for a smaller file. Nobody can add detail that wasn't recorded, so treat any "enhance to 4K" promise as a red flag.

When a post won't save

Audio-only?

If you only want the sound from a clip — a voice note, a song, a quote — pick the MP3 option before downloading and you'll get just the audio track instead of the full video.

Use it kindly

Save your own posts however you like. For someone else's, keep it personal or ask first, and credit the person who made it. Downloading is the easy part; being decent about it is the part worth remembering.

Go save one with the Threads downloader. On Pinterest too? Here's how that works.
